A handful of Lithuanian biathletes are going to start their biathlon season next weekend in the Norwegian championships.

It's nice that we're back after missing the championships last year.

In France for the first time, similar to Norway, the qualification for the Olympic Games ends after the fifth World Cup in Ruhpolding. Results from Antholz will no longer be taken into account, according to Stephane Bouthiaux, Head of Biathlon France.

I saw this today and thought it would be an interesting discussion point.

No photo description available.

Any chance that Tarjei Boe moves past Dratchev?  Does Johannes Tinges Boe pass Martin Fourcade in wins?  I do not think that he will compete long enough to pass him in anything other than wins.

Any idea who else would be near these numbers?  One other thing, with an additional week on the schedule, there is at least 3 more victories/podiums now.

Here is the women's one:

No photo description available.

With a season like last year, Eckhoff can raise to 2nd on this list.  Wierer is the only other active biathlete on this list.

Anyone know if the races in Sjusjoen or Idre will be streamed this weekend?

Idre has been available un-geoblocked in the past & biathlon is scheduled this weekend.  Sjusjoen has turned up on YT, though not always live.

Said of SVT Play for the Idre races, the Norwegian events are live on NRK 1 (the main public tv channel in Norway)...

most likely, they will not be available live because their website is very well protected and need a registration and a national code, but for sure, once they are over, they will be available for everybody (even without a VPN) as archived programs through their android/androidTV/iOS app...just in case they won't be uploaded on YT like it happened last year...

I hope that with Gismondi will be different, especially since she was already a great talent in her junior years. The problem in Italy is that for the past 15 years, aside from Pellegrino, there has been a miss of stability in other athletes: there are some booms of excellent form, but later they disappear. I also worry that funding for cross-country skiing will be cut after the Cortina Olympics.
