Isn't/wasn't there a website for that? Specifically aimed at athletics? Both for Olympics and world champs I seem to remember.

There was:

http://road-to-rio.com/

Unfortunately I don't think they create the list anymore because I can't access this or find London 2012.

I went back to the Athletics Rio 2016 Qualification thread and found this link, so it is probably this.

We can always create our own and given how hard the standards are the list won't be as massive as 2016. We just need to take into account indoor events and additional rules for the marathon.

I think there will not be too many quota allocation via ranking as you can reach the standard during two season plus next indoor season.

One question:

The top 5 finishers at the IAAF Gold Label Marathons will also be considered as having achieved the entry standard? Correct?

So at the moment these marathons will count: https://www.iaaf.org/competition/calendar/marathon-and-road-races/iaaf-gold-label-road-races#30

Most of those athletes will either be the same or come from nations that have already qualified 3 or more athletes. We'll likely have between 1000-1200 athletes before taking World Rankings into account, more manageable than the ~2000 athletes in 2016.

Is this correct?

    • If anyone is interested, here is a link to a GeoGuessr Challenge.   It's in single player. There are 5 rounds total, and you have to pinpoint on a map as close as you can to the actual location that you spawned at. For this particular challenge, you have a time limit of 10 minutes per round and you can move as much as you want.   Since this is Totallympics, thought this particular map would be an appropriate theme. There is a flag at the start of each location that's supposed to help you identify where you are.   You can do this challenge at any time (no need to coordinate times with other users) and you only need a regular account, not a premium account.

    • The 6 teams is very disappointing, but I think there would be no chance the MLB would allow players is the competition took the entire length of the Olympics. Giving players one week off is manageable, two weeks is near impossible from the MLB perspective.   IOC probably had to decide between having 8-12 teams w/o MLB players or 6 teams with possibly having MLB players.
