Firs time since 1908 two different Brits have won gold medals in Swimming and also first time since 1908 two British Men have medaled in the same event. A great result.

If his improvement translates to the 100 free ...

He actually isn't that tall, but in the water his arms look as if they are 2 m long.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Not a wise decision from Hosszú, she withdrew from 200 fly, everyone qualifies. I think she may have had a better chance to win a medal in 200 fly than in 200IM. And by that I mean better than nothing because she's clearly not winning a medal in 200IM.

GB focusing on the 4 x 200m relay rather than individual events. That is an interesting but risky decision.

Given that GB is maybe the top favorite in the men's 4x200, that is not a bad decision. It would be much more harder in the individual.

    • I am assuming the FIS will fight very hard to keep it.   From a substainability standpoint it also really doesn’t make that much sense to axe Nordic combined as long as ski jumping is in the games anyway. For the same reason that all three sliding sports are basically a package that will live and die together.

    • I can’t see it being kept. Unless some very important  people have asked for it.
    • First event at the World juniors (team events) had 6 nations win medals.
    • I hope they keep it. Even though the sport doesn't exist in Slovakia at all, it's still very exciting to watch.
    • will miss this stage because of the Middle East war, since the flights with Qatar Airways have been cancelled and can't be replaced in time (especially for the bicycles)
