Mohammed Gammoudi was interestingly another Tunisian who came to Tokyo as an unknown and created an upset.

Gammoudi created an upset in 1964, but he was upset by an even greater upset.

Does look like Luke Greenbank is the form that makes him a likely medal challenger in the 200m.

Relays will have to do a lot of the work or Team Gb will go notably backwards in terms of swimming medals.

Russia almost missed the final. I know they were without Kolesnikov and Rylov, but even with them i can't see how they can beat the US. Italy were great, but they were the only ones with the A team and will it be enough for a medal?

With Rapšys doing what he's doing, I'm just happy that we have Šidlauskas and Teterevkova that managed to qualify to their 100m breaststroke semi-finals, which is a very decent performance for Teterevkova when she's only 19 and Šidlauskas is fairly young in the swimming scene as well.

Here goes the swimming. I didn't know Daiya Seto is a cheater (not the doping kind), that makes it a lot easier to not feel sorry for him missing out on his home final :p Thanks commentator :d

So what's his story?

Adulterer - it’s not something that would have been such a big issue in terms of being on the team in the UK.

I see. That wouldn't stop me from supporting someone, although you gave a promise and if you can't fulfill that promise, then maybe you shouldn't marry. It's something they value in Japan.

Time for the super exciting second finals session :cheer:This will set the mark, if the US will be the usual dominator in the medal table, or they will take a hit.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
