Meantime Pres Trump is doing five rallies per day of the conventional come-one-come-all type.

That is a heck of a schedule. I'm surprised there is no Ohio there, though with all the other visits in the Rust belt and the good words on the ground, they could spare a trip there. And this is not including what Pence is doing.

Well.

12 states still pretty much in play in the presidential election with about half a week to go and 10 senate elections looking pretty tight as well (RCP ratings) (though we'll most likely be looking at a runoff in the Georgia special election). That's really gonna be one heck of a election night (and week while the last votes are counted) not to mention that both presidential candidates are certainly preparing to fight for recounts.

The polls are looking better for Biden than Clinton at this point, but nothing is over

In terms of as good as certain electoral votes, it's 234-125 in Biden's advantage. Meaning Biden would need only 36 more, with Pennsylvania (20), Arizona (11), Minnesota, Wisconsin (both 10) and New Hampshire (4) being states which aren't counted in the 234 but where Biden seems to have the upper hand. Two of those would already be enough if one out of Florida, Georgia or North Carolina goes to him.

It does look a lot better than it did for Clinton indeed, although Clinton was on her way to the win halfway through the night four years ago. I personally love 270towin.com, here's the map in which I've filled in the 'certain' states (darker colours), the states in which there's a slight favourite in between 'certain' and 'toss-up' (lighter colours) and the true toss-ups (grey).

There is a logical explanation for this, which we will see Tuesday as well.  The first results that come in contain the Mail sent and pre-election votes, which are skewing more Democrat, while the GOP in person, election votes come at the back half of the counting.

Especially in Florida, it has been noted in the last days, that the early results Tuesday, will show a Biden lead, but that won't mean much, because it would be mostly the Mail votes.

I am really surprised to see how obsessed many people on here seem to be with US politics in general and the 2020 elections in particular. Are there really non-American people who will stay up all night in the middle of the week to wait for the results?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • How wonderful!   I met the national rowing (and beach rowing) coach of EST/LTU/LAT on the way to ice hockey one day, who's Canadian by the way. I also flew home on the same flight as JC Schoonmaker's mom and friends, so we chatted for a bit.
    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
