Bolsonaro isn't even sworn in yet and already Brazilian sports federations are preparing for the worst, because funding is most likely going to be cut very short from next year on  For example no special bonuses anymore for winning South American championships and stuff like that.

Besides the proposal to extinguish the Ministry of Sport (the sport would be under the Ministry of Education and Culture). That is, sports will be totally in the background.

The worst thing is that there are athletes who agree with this and try to justify, as is the case with Wallace, volleyball.

Yeah I guess for athletes in relatively big sports this is a bit different and their careers don't depend as much on it...meanwhile Bolsonaro is singlehandedly breaking down the Olympic hopes of athletes in smaller sports, like my girlfriend (who has a very real chance to qualify in cross-country skiing).

The UK has history of naming streets after the political opponents of oppressive regimes

The South African embassy (during apartheid) was/is on Mandela St. (A fact mentioned during the 2014 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony)

maybe they are not alone in this :d there is a "Bobby Sands" street next to British embassy in Tehran

and btw there is no political relationship between Iran and Egypt for something like 40 years for the same reason. A street's name ! :d
