And only three years or so after the other medalist of both those Games, Litvinov.

Seems to be a very common theme with Soviet athletes... Much more than the GDR ones for example.

God knows what kind of juices they got subjected to. Or maybe it's just a picture of the Russian health care system.

Life is sometimes so cruel...

Today passed away Slovak ice hockey player Boris Sádecký (24 years old).

You may remember him for that incredible goal 4 years ago

He collapsed during the IHL (ex-EBEL) league match last week between Dornbirn and Bratislava Capitals and today came the news he passed away...

2 days before (26th October) the accident he scored a hattrick against Klagenfurt and was so smiley and happy to find back his form...

Unbelievable. literally 8 days after scoring a hattrick the kid died

RIP Boris

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
