Kill´em all ! I tell you kill all those bastards...

it´s not enough for them to kick the C2 out of the Olympics, but they just decided to remove the event form Word champs and world cups..all this for this fucking womens C1 bullshit..

An ICF board meeting in Tokyo voted to continue support for the new discipline, while at the same time agreeing to drop the men’s C2 from the World Championship and World Cup programs, effective immediately.

Not to worry, mixed C2 is coming, even better!

However with the IOC’s strong focus on gender equality, mixed C2 would fit well inside Olympic guidelines.

“The C2 mixed has a possibility to get into the Olympics,” ICF President Jose Perurena said.

"Extreme" canoe slalom has been added to the Pan Am Games program. Whatever that is

That sounds like canoe cross, where everything is decided at the start and any overtaking is impossible. :(

Some huge surprises happened in our National trials, for example Matej Beňuš finished only 4th and will not be part of the C1 team for the upcoming European championships, the only positive thing for him is that we will use 4 athletes in this category at the world cup and so he still has chance to be part of the best three for the world championships in Rio.

Much worse situation is for Andrej Málek in the K1 and the Hochschorner Brothers who finished 4th and will not compete in the very last race of this category at the next Europeans, so de facto the 3 times olympic champions and 2012 bronze medalists just finished their career...

Team Slovakia for season 2018

M C1

Alexander Sláfkovský

Michal Martikán

Marko Mirgorodský

+ Matej Beňuš  - will not be part of the team for the European championships, but thanks the fact we have 4 quotas in world cup, he´ll compete at all 5 stages and thus can still fight for a place in our team for the world championships

M K1

Jakub Grigar

Martin Halčin

Jakub Stanovský

M C2  (only for the European Championships in Prague, after the championship this event will be officially dismissed and is already not scheduled for the world cup and world championships)

Ladislav Škantár / Peter Škantár

Tomáš Kučera / Ján Bátik

Matúš Gewissler / Juraj Skákala

W K1

Elena Kaliská

Eliška Mintálová

Michaela Haššová

(our best athlete in this category Jana Dukátová is pregnant and will miss this season)

W C1

Monika Škachová

Simona Maceková

Soňa Stanovská

    • That’s good news. There’s been no mention of the team in the local papers at all. If they go, I think they’ll be the first Philippine athletes to represent the country in a team event at the World Games.
    • No, Lake Placid won the bid to be the back-up host over St Moritz and Igls. I don’t believe any other track expressed interest.
    • Assuming there’s streaming, I think I’ll be watching the Asian Winter Games and the World Games
    • With the 2024 Bolivarian Games done and dusted, I thought it'd be a good time to look at next year's slate of international multi-sport games.
