Nah, combined is an awful format. And today we haven't a downhill but a super-G... Btw, congrats Hirscher :d

It would have been fair if it was a real 100-110 seconds downhill. I'm sure that someone like Jansrud would be able to stay ahead of VMJ then.

What a shame for :AND Oliveras. He could have been in the spotlight as the first starter in run 2, but the Canadian overtook him (who didn't even bother to show up for slalom).

Can’t really blame them for taking a “training run” here considering there is no guarantee there will be another one before the downhill.

There should be a system where they can say so right after the downhill, so people who are 31st, 32nd and so on there can still be added to the slalom start list (in the first places).

      Let's not act as if these things never happen before. Serbia's cross-country skiing drama a week before the Olympic qualifying for Beijing ended: FIS | Cross-Country Results - Zlatibor (SRB) 2021/2022   Drndic with a DNF, despite being - on paper at least - the best athlete. She didn't just 'not finish', she stepped out barely 50 meters before the finish, because if finishing, the points for her competitor would have been better due to the way points are calculated. Ended up with lots and lots of yelling and screaming and fighting and cursing, DNS the next day and in the end Serbia sent none of them.   This is not a shit move by Canada, this is a fault of the system at most.

      Yes agreed, resetting it would help make it more dramatic as no one would be running away with it. We could also set it that there is a small reward for ranking higher after each round… maybe they start the next round with a “head start” so they bring a few points into the next round? But starting from scratch each round might be cleaner

      I like the concept a lot. My only worry would be that the nations doing the best individually would also end up at the top here as teams are only made up of pairs. Whereas in a bigger team it gives the nations not doing so well individually to have another chance if they are lucky enough to be placed in a good team. Any way we can balance it?

      Nice for them, but also kind of too bad they pick the exact same two as last time. Would have been nice to see Regina Martinez for example (although I'm not sure that would have been logistically possible, depending on how they're going to do the flag bearer thing in the first place).
