I'm curious what was written before London 2012? Did they attack their own country, or did they just keep quiet?

Nobody hates Britain more than the British media so… I recall it being quite a pessimistic tone before the London games started.

For me, these were very good Olympics, and British sport benefited greatly from them, and is still benefiting. I fear it will be much worse here. Canada also benefited very good on Vancouver 2010 – this is very good see in the medal standings of subsequent Winter Games after 2010 and earlier.

And of course the British being famous for curmudgeons, there were always plenty of curmudgeons to quote.  Then of course from the opening ceremony and the cycle race on the very first morning it was obviously going to be triumph, so everyone just shut up for a while.

British Columbia in general and Vancouver in particular are awesome and it’s great more people got to discover it thanks to Vancouver 2010.

oh, c'mon! there's plenty of natural snow there!

there's no need at all of artificial snow, even for HP and BA jumps

not a case that Eliasch is only complaining about funding, AKA his bribe is not enough

fuck him and all the English speaking media goin'on with this fuckin', slandering campaign

they would really deserve to be left out at night during the Olympics, not sleeping in luxory 10-star suites like they will

Yeah, there's certainly things to complain about from an athletes' perspective, but snow should really not be much of an issue indeed. Mostly things like the enormous geographical spread and it's consequences like there not being one big opening ceremony and everything being spread around a bunch of small Olympic 'villages'/accomodations - so not really the Olympic feeling and atmosphere for the athletes since they'll mostly just stay around athletes of their own sport as in any regular competition.

We'll be going very near to the Olympic area in a few weeks (Coppa Italia in Falcade), let's see what things look like by then.

The doomongering made what I post on here seem positive. Everything possible to go wrong was predicted fo go wrong.

Aren't you outraged by Simon's presence in biathlon? She's facing a court case for stealing from a teammate...

I didn't follow the case, but she was convicted... so justice has been served

The atmosphere in the French squad must be terrible, though, since Simon and Breisaz hate each other, and one steals the other's credit card during training camp. How can anyone function together in such a situation?
