The Dutch federation has made it's choices in the three contested categories: Sanne van Dijke is in, Kim Polling is out. Guusje Steenhuis is in, Marhinde Verkerk is out. Henk Grol is in, Roy Meyer is out.

Making this the provisional team, with still a chance for Sanne Verhagen to be added and in theory Tessie Savelkouls as well if she would by some miracle recover from her horrific injury.

    Tornike Tsjakadoea (-60 kg)
    Juul Franssen (-63 kg)
    Sanne van Dijke (-70 kg)
    Guusje Steenhuis (-78 kg)
    Frank de Wit (-81 kg)
Noël van ’t End (-90 kg)
    Michael Korrel (-100 kg)
    Henk Grol (+100 kg)

    Men

    -60kg: Eric Takabatake

    -66kg: Daniel Cargnin

    -73kg: Eduardo Katsuhiro Barbosa

    -81kg: Eduardo Yudy Santos

    -90kg: Rafael Macedo

    -100kg: Rafael Buzacarini

    +100kg: Rafael Silva

    Women

    -48kg: Gabriela Chibana

    -52kg: Larissa Pimenta

    -63kg: Ketleyn Quadros

    -70kg: Maria Portela

    -78kg: Mayra Aguiar

    +78kg: Maria Suelen Altheman

Nice to see Ketleyn Quadros returning to the Olympics after 2008 (when she was our first ever female medalist in any individual sport). Brazil didn't qualify an athlete in Women's -57kg (Rafaela Silva's category), which I guess could make it harder to win a medal in the Team event.

Fun detail how the three heaviest men are all called Rafael and the three heaviest women are all called Maria or a variation of that :d

Mayra is not a variation of Maria. it has a different origin.

      • fencingtv.com   now it's all there (needs registration, but for now it's free of charge, so it's still OK)
      • many athletes didn't get their visa 2  Schengen , canada , usa ...do it all the time  it's a new strategy to increase the chance of medals
      • Four  (Duguma, Berha, Kalayu, Siyoum) got denied visas even though they competed in Toruń in Febraury  Must be some Schengen visa rules crap?
      • Yep, I actually think this Schwaller team is only just getting better every single year, and there’s not many viable options at third and fourth in the Swiss women’s curling scene, there’s only some good but not great players.   If Paetz and Tirinzoni both retire before the next quadrennial (likely for Tirinzoni, she said at the end of last year that the recent GSOC event would be her last) then Berset-Witschonke-Howald-Hurlimann is the best you can do and I don’t think the firepower is there. If Paetz keeps going, and it’s Witschoke-Howald-Hurlimann-Paetz then it’ll be interesting, but it’s also hard to predict.
      • The Canucks have started their tank this season and now we’re awful, so I’ll only be watching when the playoffs start  at least we get a guaranteed top 3 pick, but even that probably won’t go our way.   Fencing WC’s are interesting yep, if I can find a stream and if our top fencers are competing or make it to the R16 or further.    Speaking of basketball, I forgot about NBA
