well , women's football level is still very far away from men

But if countries put time and effort into their teams, the level will improve. Plus, some of highly sexist attitudes of sports officials and enthusiasts must change.

You forgot about the most important thing there-- MONEY!!! :p

Men's football generates so much more money, Carli Lloyd can walk around downtown London with a "I'm a World Cup winner" neon T-shirt and nobody would recognize her. Football (soccer) is a global game. Other than Alex Morgan & Hope Solo I don't see any single player who can even remotely aspire for a global status and let's be honest, Morgan is still best known for her Sports Illustrated shoots than actually playing football. Who can name the club she actually represents? Because I sure as heck can't without uncle Google's help and I'm watching football for over 30 years.

FIFA should give the  4 places to Africa not Asia

Asia is very weak except JAP / CHN they win but without quality of game , African are much better

Australia also represents Asia these days ;)  Moreover North Korea are a much better team than Thailand but they were eliminated in Asian Cup qualifiers on goal difference by South Korea (five team group) while Thailand only played two teams to make the Asian Cup finals (beat Taiwan 1-0 in the ultimate decider). And 5 from 8 teams from Asian Cup finals made it into the World Cup. So there was a great deal of luck for Thailand to get here and they were badly exposed straight away.

I've heard women also run slower in the 100m.

well , i'm an old follower of women's football , i like to follow major tournaments WC, Olympics and Euro , i'm feeling that the level is kept declining over years , honestly i didn't find any interesting match at Rio neither this WC , i feel women's football level was way better before . the problem is that they're not very far from level of men's football , but the problem is that what these players do can't be considered as football IMO , women are below men in all sports except technical ones like Gymnastics or diving maybe , but i don't feel that women play another sport than men do in other sports than football

    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
    • Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
    • On the Olympics I don't like to count golds to analyse the performance, I think the best data are the top8 and medals. In both fields I expect a big improvement (obviously not on the 'pure' number, but on the percentage of medal or top8 events)
