Biathlon IBU World Cup 2017 - 2018

Weird, apparently Lithuanian men's relay team after finishing 24th, is now 22nd with Poland and SLovakia behind them? Did they forget to do a penalty loop and got +2 minutes?

Apparently some result problems in the women's relay as well, as Slovakia is bumped up to 17th, Estonia falls down to 20th? I don't understand what's going on.

Edit: It appears that they didn't use the new rules for this relay, so the shooting after getting lapped didn't matter and was annulled.

Oh my ....

what the hell was this ?

For the first time ever, both our relays were kicked out from the race in 1 single day !

Poor Nastya and Otčenáš traveled to the stadium for nothing today. The only positive thing was Paulína´s great first leg.

But Hasilla !!! This must be the new World Record, isn´t ?

Well, It was definitely the right decision to instead of following todays races to play some hockey with friends :d  We have to forget as soon as possible todays races, thankfully it wasn´t the most important events of the season, but we really need to find a 4th girl for the relay.

I still hope and think that we can have all our 3 relays in top 10´s in PyeongChang. if it happened it will be just fantastic

LOL. We managed to be 3rd in both races with really bad shooting results... Not a great weekend, even though it ends with 2 podiums. Let's hope next week will be better since they'll be at home x)

I wouldn't say for nothing, it's always good to get some shooting training in :p

I wonder if this means Russia won't compete in any IBU-events? I doubt it, but still..

They were stripped off the voting in the IBU Congress only but there's no Congress planned in the near future so de facto there's no punishment at all.

Moreover, as a provisional member they pay only half of the participation fee from now  Good job IBU :yes

The rumour says that even Starykh & Loginov will be allowed to take part in the OG.

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
