Yay, Berecz won the ECh. Great sign for the Games, he must win that medal in Tokyo, preferably the gold, ofc. We haven't won a sailing Olympic medal in ages, it's time.

For those interested...these were all the proposals made to World Sailing for an alternative to the Mixed Offshore Event for Paris 2024: https://www.sailing.org/meetings/mid-year-2021.php

Here’s an article about the results of this process: https://www.sailing.org/news/90924.php#.YJwGZy1Ha-o

Gold for :NED Odile van Aanholt/Elise de Ruijter, although the main thing of their week is that Van Aanholt is still even there. On day two there was a freak accident on/around their boat: a loose line from a boat close to them swept across their deck and got entangled around her neck. This led to her actually being in a hanging position, same as in the execution method, but by accident. Thank goodness the other boat capsized, which threw Van Aanholt into the water and made her able to free herself, otherwise....yeah.

:MLT Malta won a medal at the European Championships for 49er FX.

Did they, though?

Edit: never mind, obviously the Canadians don't count.

Did they hand out two sets of medals? Sailing Canada tweeted out a picture of the Canadians at the medal ceremony/receiving medals.

It seems that :GRE Vasileia Karachaliou (laser radial) will look for another country to represent. She has had a very bad relationship with the Greek sailing federation for many years now and she finally said that it is enough.

She just turned 25 a few weeks ago and this year she was 9th in Tokyo and won bronze at the European Championships.
