Mark Cavendish gets his first win in over three years in the Tour of Turkey.  Race is cold & snow-affected at the moment, so various schedule & route changes.

And the organizers screwed up big time, just like the Tour de Pologne organizers last year....the fences/boarding were standing in an incredibly unsafe manner again, luckily Sacha Modolo seems to be alright.

At least the finish itself was pretty normal, unlike that idiotic stage in Poland where everyone knew it was only a matter of waiting for something terrible to happen.

Enric Mas heading for home in yellow in the Valencia ITT, looking like he had defended his lead from a strong performance by Stefan Küng - punctures with 500m to go!  :hairpull:

Loses 1:26, drops down to third overall, Küng into yellow. Flat city-centre circuit sprint day tomorrow, so no chance of getting anything back.

UCI has confirmed the 2025 world championships will be held in Africa :woohoo:

Two options apparently:

Tanger in Morocco :nopompom:

Kigali in Rwanda :cheer:

Meanwhile João Rodrigues gave W52/FC Porto it's biggest win ever, by taking the GC in the Volta ao Algarve after a fantastic final stage. It would definitely have been Ethan Hayter's win, but he fell in the ITT yesterday, held on to yellow, but then broke in the last kilometer today and ended up 9 seconds shy of the win. Rodrigues definitely didn't steal it though, he was the force that started the attacks on the final climb again and again until it worked.

The team won plenty of Tours of Portugal, but that's not nearly as big as this one. Although it's often quite fun to watch as well, one generally sees things there which are...interesting, in terms of magic performances :d

Imagine the world titles being decided on the Wall of Kigali, oh man. In terms of atmosphere it would be (by far!) the best big cycling race in history
