The 2021 Uruguayan Basketball League started this week.

Nacional and Peñarol, the traditional football rivals, played each other for the first time since 1993. (Peñarol was absent from basketball for 21 years.)

The tricolores defeated the carboneros 85-67.

The game was played behind closed doors in Florida rather than Montevideo, to prevent hooliganism.

Wow, buzzer beater of all buzzer beaters :d

How was this decided by the way? I see the match apparently finished 110-103, so it was like a goal difference situation where they had to win with at least 6-7 points?

no this brought the game to the overtime, but the other team (Mahram) had all of its key players fouled out earlier, it was almost a sure thing they will lose the overtime after this.

A new Dutch-Belgian competition has been announced, with the godawful name BNXT League. They didn't mention 'urban', but they had the balls to actually say, in the official announcement: "The word BNXT, which sounds extra young due to the lack of vowels, consists of the letters B(elgië) and N(ederland) and very obviously holds the word 'next' in it."

Uuuughhh.

I guess basketball is so far down the ladder in Belgium and Netherlands they will do anything to gain media attention - even create some stupid ass name for a league nobody will follow to begin with ;)
