Today Tamas Ajan once again elected as IWF president for another 4 years ! it means the corruption and doping will continue in this sport

this is not a big change so far since he was in charge since 2000 but there is a huge danger for Iranian weightlifting here. the problem started when the Iranian weightlifting federation president "Ali Moradi" (former AWF general secretary) tried his best to work and gather help for the other candidate the Italian Antonio Orso ! now Orso lost the election, and we know how things work in IWF, I think Ajan will try to take revenge :(   God bless our weightlifting.

I agree with you. Ajan's era is not good for this sport

Finally after almost a year, IWF started to close the cases and ban weightlifters from the re-analyses.

http://www.iwf.net/anti-doping/sanctions/

there are 3 Kazaskh weightlifters here, all Olympic champions. Maneza, Podobedova and Chinshanlo.

they didn't update this page yet, they are still in "closed IOC – ongoing IWF" state

btw based on IWF previous rules, now they are supposed to ban Kazakhstan Weightlifting Federation for a year ! they made that rule before the Rio to ban countries with more than 3 positive cases . when journalists asked them when that ban starts they said after finishing the cases for each country !

The governing body of weightlifting (IWF) has been warned that the sport risks exclusion from the 2024 Olympic Games if it does not provide a "satisfactory" report about how it is dealing with doping by December.

"The IWF has until December 2017 to deliver a satisfactory report to the IOC on how they will address the massive doping problem this sport is facing," IOC President Thomas Bach told reporters. Bach said the report was a condition for weightlifting remaining among the 28 Olympic sports in 2024.

So one federation is fighting against doping yet gets warned, another is corrupt to the absolute core of the federation itself (like boxing) and it doesn't get any warning....riiiiight :d

Well, at least the athletes there are not doped beyond belief... Officially...
