Meanwhile :DEN as good loyal neighbor are saving :GER ass right now by beating Austria 1-0 :d

That's pity. I hope :AUT could make it :-D ..... Well, still :DEN can make it to the Olympics. :GER does not seem as strong as everyone expected

:DEN with a big 1-0 win over :AUT and now group D is truly a mess.

Scenarios for tomorrow (I think this is accurate):

  • :DEN qualifies if they win or go to overtime against :GER
  • :GER qualifies if they win in regulation and :AUT fails to beat :ITA in regulation
  • :GER qualifies if they beat :DEN by at least 5 goals
  • :AUT qualifies if none of the above happens

As a certain Lineker said: Football is a simple game: 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and, in the end, the Germans always win

:CZE and :SWE battling neck to neck at the same time for the "Bully of the Day" award :p  So far it is completely and perfectly even, both teams scored their 11th goal of the night at the same exact time lol

Congrats. Now one step left, but I am pretty sure it will end well. You have a great generation of players, they simply deserve to play at the Olympics and I would not be surprised at all to see CZE attacking the quarterfinals in Beijing

btw former speed skater now hockey sniper Karolína Erbanová 1+1 today :d

Hey my very modest math skills tell me that you still have a chance. :d

Anyway, there were almost zero chance for anyone else in that group to stop :SWE of qualifying. Let be real. We both got a terrible opponent in the group. practically unsolvable thing, SWE is above us by miles. The CZE & SWE groups were basically already solved in advance, they are played just for formality, meanwhile the GER group would be doable for you or us much more I believe.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)
