The African Group Stage 1st place curse is real! Cape Verde joins the nations of South Africa and Somalia who underperformed after a strong start in the group stage. Shockingly, South Africa goes home while the two countries they beat in the group stage, Costa Rica and Côte d'Ivoire, advance to the next round.

 

We will continue with the final session of R16 at 19:00 GMT+2 with @mrv86 at the helm.

Hello TISC Special enthusiasts. Our deepest gratitude to my colleagues @Vektor and @Wumo

for their valuable contributions. Now, we head into the final part of today's schedule.

 

 

In the Round of 16, Guatemala will be trying to accomplish what their fellow Central Americans

from Costa Rica did previously; that is advancing from the Repechage phase to beat one ot the

top seeds, Gibraltar, who on their part, are looking to keep their victory record intact.

And Gibraltar remains in the competition with a perfect record!

They will surely remain amongst the favorites for the gold medal.

We also want to applaud Guatemala's effort for making it to this round.
