LIUDMYLA LUZAN DID IT!

She's know the record holder of gold medals at the same World Championships, beating icon Laurence Vincent-Lapoint by 1 gold.

She won both Olympic distances and looked really good the second half of the season, well done :cheer:

2 gold medals for Poland in olympic distances W K1 500m (Puławska) and W K2 500m (Puławska and Klatt).

If they could repeat one of those in LA, that would be a first ever olympic canoeing gold for Poland!!!

Our olympic medal stats in canoeing look very weird:

0-9-14---23

Edited by rafalgorka
medal stats are 0-9-14---23, not 0-9-4---13 as mentioned before

it looks like our medal table at the last swimming worlds for quite a few days...finally, we got our gold medals

I think (and I hope) you'll get yours in 2028 ;)

by the way, very disappointing championship for the Host Nation :ITA

we got only a bunch of 6th/7th places in the Olympic events, our best youngsters don't seem to improve enough and our established paddlers are just not good enough to medal year in year out

I just can't see a great future for our canoeing despite all the investments and some kind of tradition

We won last gold in canoein in 2000... Josefa Idem in k-500. And in 2008 she lost minimal and won silver.

We haven`t great individuals who win gold medals, like Idem (she was from West Germany). Paradoxically, it's a small miracle that Italy manages to win an Olympic medal on every four years in Olympics, considering that they win almost nothing in Olympic events at the World Championships, which are held annually.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
