There's no chance of winning six gold medals, and that's the only way to finish in the top 10. We should have two or three gold medals today.

You will not be satisfied with six golds, because then you will argue China won 9 at home in 2022.

You will not be satisfied with nine golds, because then you will argue a country with a population of 5.6 million (Norway) wins (potentially) more than Italy with 59 million.

See where this is going?

6 golds is the absolute minimum if you have 20 or more medals in total. In 2006 in Turin, we had 5 gold medals for a total of 11 medals...

If there's one thing I've learned with sports, then wait with complaining once it's over. Otherwise, if things turn out well, all that drama will make you look embarrassing, sorry to say.

This is from someone who can admit falling into the same emotional trap at times. I don't watch much sport anymore because it wasn't good for my health.

For what? For results, you can't even influence. I'd rather have a good, peaceful walk. :p

I felt like saying that because I can understand you.

c'mon!

she's 35, had a long career and so many bad injuries that it's a miracle she's not lying in a hospital bed beside her great friend Lindsey

she's not anymore the same athlete of years ago...and it's obvious

time goes by...and it does it for everybody, included our favourite athletes

have to accept that

ya, Goggia just being at the Olympics is the win. Everything above that was a bonus.

(And she already has a gold medal anyway!)

Canada won 14 at home with a smaller population and with less events, so really unless Italy wins 40 gold medals they are under performing.

When it comes to summer sports, Italy always lands on its feet like a cat :) Unfortunately, winter is tough, and what I feared is happening. I'd like to be wrong and say something back. So far, only Lollobrigida's gold medal has kept me from having a complete nervous breakdown.

Goggia spent the all entire season preparing for this one race- today, so bronze is a failure. Especially since I thought only Vonn could beat her there. Goggia still has a chance in the SG, where she's performing better this year than in the DH, and I'm counting on gold for Italy there: Goggia, Pirovano?

I think someone should came to such countries like Poland or Bulgaria where everyone will be happy with just one medal... Really 5 or 6 golds isnt big difference, medal is medal, no matter if its silver or bronze. I really doesnt understand for example Nika Prevc yesterday, she wins silver for which 46 other jumpers can only dream now... she should respected that.
