I really like small odd sports, I mean I play curling myself, but this didnt seem like an olympic discipline. Especislly the "giant slalom" part was just pointless and they were not so good at it either. 
Feels like most elite cross country skiiers could be potential medalists in this sport with a few months of training

Nope, it's a complete different sport. It's more similar to mountain running.

Ps, it the past Sweden had a great skimo champion, Tove Alexandersson. She was AMAZING on skis

Yeah that is what I mean. She can be a double world Champion doing it as her fourth sport After orienteering (23 World titles), ski orientering (10 world titles) and skyrunning (1 World title) 😄

 

But maybe I should be a bit kinder to the   sport. I have not seen so much so I might be wrong but the sprint seems More of a joke than the longer distances?

So IOC is the main problem, ghoosing the wrong disciplines. Do they usually run in stairs?

also the clothes changing I guess is not the most important part of the competition in the longer races.
