Simon stole a petty amount from a teammate, which is bad but like… it’s just kind of amusing as an outsider.

Which is a little different than an ice dance team that came together basically because multiple people wanted to turn a blind eye to sexual abuse. It’s not so funny. And I don’t think there is national bias here on my end, arguably everyone in the leadership of I.AM share responsibility in this (which implicates two of the best :CAN ice dancers of all times).

Ngapeth in volleyball? It shows that they're covering up their stars scandals just to win more medals... That's my opinion. Because without Simon and Ngapeth, they'd have fewer medals. It's probably similar in figure skating, though I don't know the sport well enough to say anything definitive.

LFB’s husband and former skating partner was credibly accused of sexual abuse (and suspended six years for it). Cizeron split from his former partner because she didn’t want to train with LFB’s husband (who is a close friend of Cizeron). And then Cizeron and LFB joined forces.

The BBC barely covered it. Just said her boyfriend was banned and not why.

The BBC at the end had no round up and just spoke about the Skelton. There is real fear in the BBC about just how bad the Winter Olympics will get for :GBR and what that means for 2030.

So, there's no Russia, this is France... So what's the difference between them? Both want success at all costs, but perhaps France does it more with white gloves...

What are you taking about?  This is not make sense. Sport level of French here Simon or couple in ice dance is phenomenal.

I for one enjoyed the French dance, without carrying much about the backstage scandals. But as I mentioned, I'm just a bystander on this sport and not that connected with the athletes. Didn't look to me as a team, which is retiring, so the people who hate them better prepare for the coming years. :d

    • There are things I find pathetic, but saying a competition is unnecessary right after you don't qualify for it is the typical display of a loser. Pietro Maschio, when Conegliano qualifies for the Club World Cup next time, should refuse to participate like the Polish clubs do and stop spouting nonsense.

    • Never wanted something to be more wrong then I did now... synchronized skating and no ice cross    And of course we'll probably win the gold medal in it because it's a sport that I hate, the same thing happened with "breaking" aka breakdancing in 2024.
    • No surprise — it’s the result of months of controversy, including media backlash. It all started with the federation’s decision not to select Romei, who is very close to Costantini, for the Olympic Games, and to call up Rebecca Mariani instead. In recent months, the Romeo/Costantini duo allegedly tried to push out Lo Deserto as well, and these are the results…
