It is the general consensus, except for some Northern American. They only cheer for the Olympic spirit when they’re winning. This is totally wrong. Papadakis's book caused a huge storm in France because they were beloved as a duo, always shown as full of love, until then. But releasing a book just 3 weeks (!) before the Olympics and slamming him out of nowhere really made people think she was only trying to tear him down. Cizeron indirectly replied her in L'Equipe (#1 newspaper), explaining he'd spent months in "couple therapy" to get her back on the team since she was totally depressed. He tried to help her as much as possible, saw her as a sister, and was deeply hurt by it all. She never denied any of it after that. French people have plenty of flaws, but we're not afraid to air dirty laundry about anyone. -

8 I personally never judge a sporting event by how my country/team/favorites perform (ok since they rarely participate and if so are never good, it's easy I know, don't remind me) but my point is, I love sports and the Olympics more than the teams I support (I always find thing to enjoy or support last minute). So so far, these games have been great for me. -
I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure Fournier Beaudry and especially Cizeron are way better than Fusar Poli/Margaglio, as good as they were. -

From simply a performance perspective and my opinions: I liked for how fun and stylized it was. I liked for the emotion. I liked (because they're the best and) for how intense it was. (And, as a Spanish teacher, I'm partial to paso dobles and matadors.) -

Today was the first time I had heard anything of it from the commentators actually, and it was just an aside or a prelude to talk about how miraculous it is that they're skating so well after such a short time together. -

Unfortunately, a medal was out of their reach, but they've already had much better seasons in 2023 and 2024. If France hadn't returned this season with a naturalized Canadian at the last minute, we would have had that bronze medal today It was clear that if France returned, they must to win a medal, because that was the goal and they'd probably win gold in four years. I remember that our pair: Fusar-Poli/Margaglio also returned specifically in 2006 to the home games after four years, but we didn't win a medal there, because we clearly didn't have the same level of confidence as the French now.
