So :SUI and :BRA are the only two countries to win an alpine skiing gold medal in a men's event.

And we had 4 Swiss athletes in Alpine Skiing. Odermatt was the only one who didn't win gold.

Braathen ends up stealing all the spotlight, but what an Olympics for :BRA Ongaro!

31st in the Giant Slalom and 27th in the Slalom.

It's a shame the third Brazilian (Christian) didn't finish the run, but I'm already looking forward to our Alpine Skiing team in 2030. :yes

Since :SUI had silver in the GS, :BRA is literally what stopped :SUI from sweeping all the men's events. Imagine being told this in 2022.

Poor McGrath walking into the wilderness (and then lying down in the snow) will be a topic for some memes I suppose.

There was once in F1 when Alonso lied down on a sunbed (I think after he crashed or his car broke down?) and there were a good number of memes about that.

His grandpa died on the day of the opening ceremony. Perhaps he got overwhelmed with all that and couldn't deliver.

One has to wonder couldn't they have delayed the first run by 2 hours, so the snowfall had finished.. As we see the weather is clear now and probably has been for a while.

Even if they had delayed the second run by 2 hours, it would still be only 15:30 and there are floodlights. And there is practically NOTHING in the Olympics schedule this afternoon, it wouldn't have clashed with anything.

Agree 1000%

Didn't comment on the cause of his fall or the fall itself but on the scene after.

Many ppl could not finish the slalom course anyway.
