true, i expect a team event anyways

Is totally unlikely, any mixed tournament other than doubles takes more than four sessions in two days to award a medal

Yeah, that second day tennis medal event is bizarre. Other than that I can understand pushing tennis later in the schedule, so there is more time between the end of Wimbledon (probably on July 9th) and the Olympics tournament.  Plus we are not bunching tennis, table tennis and badminton to run at the same time, which is moronic everytime they do it.

I don't understand how there can be a tennis final on the second day of competitions ...

I assume it’ll be the new event that I always pretend to forget about because it’s the stupidest thing ever but I always fail anyways

Anyone have an idea, why they are switching swimming and athletics? It's an interesting take, but I have some concerns. The first 5-6 days are always so packed and now having athletics with two 3-4 hour blocks a day is going to congest it even more. At least with swimming we know it's just 2 hour blocks.

Now if they prolonged athletics to be more days, but with shorter sessions I could get on board with that, but that doesn't seem the case and they are in the usual timeframe.

I'm not seeing the logic behind this move, unless NBC and the organisers see swimming as bigger than athletics in USA and want to have it in the second week, when interest is fading in the general audience.

I'm hoping that the format is to accommodate the MLB players. The timing of it coincides with what would usually be the All-Star break so maybe they can squeeze it in without disrupting the baseball season.

yeah, bit still you can't have a farce of a tournament just because they only want a 6-day break and not more than that

because they host swimming at the so.fi stadium, which also hosts part of the opening ceremony, so they need a few days to set up the swimming pool

baseball format (12 games in all, only 6 competition days) should be the most idiotic ever...surely, it's different from Tokyo 2020(1)

I guess it will be 2 groups of 3 teams, group winners to the semis, 2nd and 3rd ranked still advance to "quarterfinals"

Yup, there is. Softball meanwhile will have the same format of Tokyo 20250714_223722.jpg20250714_223714.jpg

I am happy that they re-schedule tenis to 2nd week, when athletics is.in 1st week. Morover table tennis, badminton are in different part od week that tennis, what is good too.

If i am right road cycling and archetyp are re-scheduled too, so yes, i think that it seems as good schedule. I was worried about it when i read that athletics must be in 1st week.

But tennis medal match in 2nd day? It seems as US open shit exhibition format :-(
