Cross-Country Skiing at the Nordic Skiing FIS World Championships 2025

Recommended Posts

I wouldn’t be shocked if the IOC keep trying to take power away from NOC’s and centralise selections more and more.

Yes, but they are effective. They invest everything in speed skating and short track + in some individual units with good results, e.g. Dekker in women's snowboard or in a girl in women's skeleton. Italy, on the other hand, invests in everything, e.g. men`s ski jumping, nordic combined, etc., but doesn`t have any dominant discipline and mostly get beat up: from Switzerland in alpine skiing, from Norway and France in biathlon and from Germany and Austria in luge etc.

I prefer Italian way than Dutch way. Due to it, Italy has more chances to fan athletes in many sports and disciplínes than Netherlands.

Moreover it makes possibilities for public to discover and start to do sport which they want or in which they are good at.

Medals are not everything.

Probably the most important day of Bruna's career tomorrow. The nerves here are off the charts, vamos :d

Oh yeah, and we can be recognized by a big banner with "Nunspeet" (our hometown) on it, and I'm carrying a Dutch-Brazilian flag, which I'll hold in a certain way to let Bruna know how she's doing when she is halfway :d

Maybe also wear a Borat mankini for extra ease of recognition.

You can combine multidisciplinarity with a great medal result, like France in Paris 2024: they won almost twice as many medals as in Tokyo (64-33). If you are already organizing the games at home, use them to develop your sport. It`s easy.

Anyone know if the qualification races on Wednesday count towards the Olympic nations ranking?
