World Record for :USA Gretchen Walsh in the 50m butterfly heats.

 

And something tells me this won't be the only WR she gets this meet.

The swimmers learned of FINA's financial difficulties and decided it's time to bankrupt them :lol: 5 WR already and 125 k gone, even though they set a measly 25 k for a WR.

25k is definitely more than enough for WR's in a sport where quite a few athletes realistically can compete in 4-5+ events in one championship :p

Any idea what makes the Budapest pool so fast by the way? I know in speed skating and track cycling altitude plays a role, for example, but isn't water...you know...water? :p 

 

I get that it has something to do with the pool and some kind of technology, that's obvious, but not really sure what it is that can make a pool 'faster'.
