Men's Baseball WBSC World Baseball Classic 2026 Road to LA 2028

Recommended Posts

:COL was eliminated from Quaters contention in their loss to Cuba. Subsquently as the WBC is the only Olympics qualifier for the Americas, they won't be flying out to LA in 2028.

:PAN:NCA:BRA are a loss away from elimination.

:DOM:VEN Definitely looks the strongest to take the qualification spots thus far.

Unfortunately, the loser of their direct match will likely play :JPN in the quarters and there's a good chance you need to reach the semis to get the quota. The quotas likely comes down to the winner of :DOM:VEN and the winner of a Pool A team (:CAN:CUB:PUR) vs.  :MEX

This is why having Olympic quotas being decided in a tournament with unrelated teams is a horrible idea.

And let's not forget this is happening way before the 2 years before the Olympics mark which is written in the Olympic qualification guidelines :mumble:

This + the 2 W CONMEBOL teams that (probably) qualified last year...just making sure the Americas are well represented in the initial qualifications.  :p

Those are still not official though. Let's wait for the qualification document to be released.

That's what I call outright suicide, the way things are going.

naaa, :ITA showing good depth both on offense and on the mound, the only real problem is J.J.D'Orazio as a catcher

actually, he's not even a catcher, he allowed so many passed balls (I don't care if they were recorded as wild pitches, those were all on the catcher)

hope he's not going to play anymore on defense, but just as a pinch hitter only

    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
