Like Estonia's single mixed relay back in Pokljuka?

Slovenian women's team is good. So are the Estonians. Estonia just missed out on a medal on the final shoot in women's relay at world championships.

If you ask what is once in a career result for a comparitively weaker nation then it has to be that Single Mixed Relay in Ostersund in 2017. Back then despite being neck to neck Martin Fourcade couldn't beat the mighty :KAZ team who won bronze. That came out of the blue as Galina Vishnevskaya's skiing dipped badly as years passed. Now even with a clear shoot she finishes out of top 60 while she was a multiple medallist at  Youth Olympics and Winter Universiade(2G,2S) as well as the Youth and Junior World Champion.

It was as good a race as it could be for the Bulgarians, unfortunate that it was a melt down for Zdravkova. Flip side Dimitrova and Todorova were excellent and Hristova wasn't bad either. Top 8 loading soon I think

Hopefully. From this season we have German legend Wolfgang Pichler being somewhat a Manager and consultant to the team and he has compiled the trainings program for the summer camps and now the in-season schedules. He was even in Hochfilzen last weekend helping the teams on the course.

We have also a new head coach in Robert Kabukov, who has previously worked with the National teams of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, so the idea is there to have the Bulgarian biathlon turn the trajectory upwards again.

We've had two solid weeks of beautiful snow at every venue & here are :FRA with miserable depressing rain, like a Maigret novel.  :water:

Big fall of snow overnight, everything is right again! :smoke:

Could be new PB for :LTU Kocergina in 25th :) @Werloc

Not only a new PB for our resident 39yo grandma (who would have guessed it, in a sprint even), but also the third best performance for Žurauskaitė.

The first ever time that two Lithuanian women get points in the same race.

The first time that three Lithuanian women qualify for a pursuit.

Nations cup record for women as well.

And mostly this result happened, because yesterday they got the news that Sara Urumova made world cup qualification at the IBU, we will have a women's relay after a 5 year hiatus and our chances to qualify our first historical women's relay squad to the Olympics is looking much much more likely now.

The men might struggle to keep their 20th place a bit more tbh :d

Believe me, few days ago i wanted to write here that IF Anamarija Lampic learns how to shoot, she'll be just unbeatable. But at first I just didn't want to jinx it and then - honestly - i forgot. And i was thinking... big IF though.

And now... i'm so happy for her. Congrats!

Waiting for one missed shot in the next sprint and then... ZERO!

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
