It is about whereabouts and not positivity, but in the case of course. Greater arm strength at the start means greater speed

why would you disappear 3 times, if you're sure it will be negative, isn't that what happened to Christian Coleman before tokyo?

And sure, i get that the stronger you are the better start you'll have , but it will also mean you're heavier when going down the track and will lose time there

Not speaking about this specific case, but a lot of times athletes forget to update there whereabout rather than trying to hide something.

With that said, it's pretty dumb of you to not keep it update, especially if you are an Olympic-level athlete.

I remember Baruch Shmailov , who is a Judoka, speaking about how completely tiring the whole whereabouts app is, it’s so easy to forget to input you went out, and you must update constantly on it, so a lot of time it doesn’t have to do with taking illegal substances, and rather the lack of possibility to keep up with the demands of the app

Maybe, but that's the game nowadays, has been so for a good 20 years now.  Once you have two misses against your name you should know you are juggling your career and reputation.

The chance of being controlled on a given day is quite low, in order to miss 3 you realistically need to misreport at least a couple dozen times a year.

And especially if you're already on two strikes (it's not like you are living your life having no clue you are at two strikes, you will be aware). As always, it is absolutely beyond me how athletes who are on two strikes can NOT wake up every morning without first checking their whereabouts for the day are still in order.

Only yesterday I heard of an athlete who had a training camp suddenly cancelled, luckily changed their whereabouts right in time and immediately got a doping control officer at home for the first day of what would have been an out-of-country camp. Would have been a strike without changing the whereabouts.

Then there's of course also athletes who are simply....well, dumb, and are the main case for why doping tests are sometimes also IQ tests. Like a certain male Latvian biathlete who missed a test because he wrote his address simply as "Bormio" and they couldn't find him (he was actually in "Hotel Bormio", but thought just "Bormio" would be a clear enough address....). And then later, after being told this was not detailed enough, missed another test because of....well, the literally exact same thing

No idea what exactly happened to Egle, whether it was outright dumb or forgetting (which is dumb, but another kind of dumb).

But honestly, that is entirely part of being a professional athlete nowadays, thank the many, many, many actual dopers for that. If you take your five minutes a day for it, it should not be too much of a problem. Like, you can literally keep it updated if you make bringing your phone to the bathroom a habit and do it there :p
