they made specific pictograms for events in freestyle skiing and snowboarding

Yes, and that's weird. They might as well have a pictogram for 2man and 4man bobs as well then, for example. And for single luge and double luge. Etc.

.

In this case I select the Aerials one for freestyle skiing, the big air one for snowboarding and the speed disciplines for alpine skiing...and also I remove the hockey one, because it looks a bit weird with the stick between legs :old:

It's sort of disappointing that the Korean writing is just the English names in Hanguel.  "Ru-jee" = Luge.  "Ah-ee-ssuh H-ah-ki" = Ice Hockey.  And so on.  I would have liked them to have the Korean names, if only so I could actually learn the Korean names.  On the other hand, if anyone here is planning to go next year you can learn Hanguel (the written language, speaking is a bit more difficult hence me wanting to learn the words) on the plane over, it's super simple.  Then you can get around easily.  Can't wait!

These are the first pictograms I find a bit confusing- there seems to be about 8 skiers doing the same thing!!!

They make different pictograms for all disciplines of the freestyle skiing and for snowboard.

I don't agree at all whit this choice but at last it's the frist stage to split the various disciplines that aren't similar each other, like the mogouls and the ski cross.

well, it's clear that the IIHF has done all they could do...

basically Fasel said to the NHL & NHLPA representatives: "OK, we've gone as far as we can go; our door is always open (until the last second)...now it's only up to you and your own internal questions...let us know what you want to do as soon as possible and we're going to set up things for the Games"...

I guess the window is closing quicker and quicker, but I still hope there's a little margin for those idiots on the other side of the Ocean to make up their minds and still be part of the Olympics...:fingers:

by the way, if I were the IIHF I'd still go down hard on the other part of the Hockey World in case they give up on the Games (I mean...something like "every player that put a single skate on North American Ice is no longer elegible for any other IIHF tournament - even in the amateur ranks - for the rest of his career")...they can't let this thing go as if nothing serious happened...:wall:

I´m pretty sure nothing will happen, we all know the problem. untill IOC will not cover the inssurances of the players (and they clearly said that already immediately after Sochi that they did it 5 times since Nagano and it´s enough, they will never do it again) NHL will not allow their players to go. and IIHF alone just have not the money to pay it, so there clearly no issue...we are quickly going to a non-NHL tournament.

    • Disappointing end of the race, wanted to see history this year
    • A lot of sports have been ruined with rule changes, modern pentathlon has actually better with these rules I think. I would never watch something span over 2 days. Short and quick finals is what most audience want.   Obviously can be optimised further, but this is definitely an excellent job and that's how a sport should be.

    • Felt the athletes didn't give it their all in swimming, it was slow
    • China was not at the Olympics. You played Japan.   Taking any conculsions after 1 match is too early and premature. Norway is definitely by any mean not a punching bag, They are a team relegated from the Top division. Nobody is going to blown them. In the opposite China yes, they were piss poor today, totally harmless, this is not China from the pre and Beijing era, any naturalized player is not in the team anymore, only local girls who had issues even with normal skating and puck control, Was quite embarassing to watch this, but kudos to China they decided to go this harder way and reform their team with local players.   Italy is still the number one favorite for promotion, 3 points against Norway are the first and very important step. Your main games will still be Hungary and France as scripted.
    • Italy today beat Norway only 2-1 (and also was a draw in the all shots stats: 28- 26). It doesn't look good for us– our form has probably arrived in February, not now. In my opinion, Slovakia will be the favorite tomorrow – they won 7-0 against China today – and they'll probably were a peak of the form. Personally, I wasn't expecting Italy to advance and I think I was right – it's good that the minimum goal – no relegation – is almost certain. Certainly, today wasn't the same form as in February at the Olympics in the matches against France and China.
    • looking at the video and knowing Australia, I think the wind reading was wrong, it was surely a lot more windy than +1.7, but we all know that sometimes these things happen (you're so young, I don't know what you know about the 1988 Olympic Trials in Indianapolis and Florence Griffith Joyner records -still standing )
    • I call bullshit on the performances from this race    20.01 to 19.67 would be one thing, we all know how good Gout Gout has been hyped up to be, even though it feels like ridiculously impossible with how steep of an improvement it is… but almost everyone from the race has had ridiculous PB’s, I mean Murphy who’s a 20.41 guy at best is now 19.88. McHugh broke 21 seconds for the first time a month ago, and now he’s going 20.23.   Either an extremely fast track, wrong timing, favourable headwind, not sure what it is.
    • This also kind of showed, like last year, the biggest flaw of Pogacar: technique and bike control. The way he was wrestling himself through curve after curve where natural talents like Van Aert and Van der Poel (cyclocross greats, no coincidence) were flying through.
