nitinsanker 202 Posted August 7, 2024 #211 Share Posted August 7, 2024 (edited) @MHSN.....your take on above story , can she be completely disqualified after reaching final bout , or logically shown as VIN and be given silver Edited August 7, 2024 by nitinsanker strength does not come from physical capacity but from an indomitable will. - Gandhi

I'm just speechless. this is really a rookie mistake I have to say I can't remember this ever happened in serious international competitions, let alone the most important competition most people make up a fake medical document for this case, UWW easily accepts this. but based on the link you posted looks like the Indian team wasn't prepared for this Edited August 7, 2024 by MHSN Roamingrover86

Today, she has qualified for final. No there is no redemption only more heartbreak.

I'm not so sure if they really do that. but let's wait and see . the rules are not very clear for a situation like this there is still nothing on both UWW and IOC websites

So, previously in the 1 day format, you played all matches on the same day and there was only 1 weigh-in. And as @MHSN said if a player was failing the weigh-in on 2nd day, they would declare the player injured and bank the Silver medal/5th place.
