I can just hope that these extra long additional times (like 7 min after 1st period, 15 or 15+ min after 2nd period) don't "infect" other FIFA or UEFA competitions (Like Euro, World Cup, Champions League)

It's a FIFA thing specifically. It was like that in Qatar 2022 and Australia/NZ 2023, and presumably it will be like this in NA 2026 as well.
