Do you feel that sudeep Or jaideep have a chance in tomorrow events?

Sujeet had his chances today, I mean for a moment I thought he threw the Mongolian and jumped from my chair :d (unfortunately the Mongolian escaped it)

he has to win two matches tomorrow, the first one will be the hardest against Kudiev/Retherford , if he wins this, the next one will be 50/50 . Retherford will be the favorite IMO

as for Jaideep, he wins the 1st match, I think he has a chance against Demirtas. something like 40% and then if it's Valiev he can try to tire him down.

so in short I think they have a realastic chance but they are clearly not the favorite (or not even the 2nd favorite) to take it.

Honestly, it's a good result that she was in the Olympic Play-Off. I didn't expected nothing more, wasn't her duty qualify.

Problems are, we're left with O in wrestling for the first time in 100 years. And no one will remember that our not very talented girls fought nicely. The problem is that for us the ultimate dream is for one competitor to advance to the Olympic Games in 18 events...

For years, Italian wrestling has been sustained by a few naturalized athletes and occasional sporadic successes. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much; we're in a comatose state.

Two, if we can have good girls in judo, why are we so low in wrestling? German women know how to fight.

because judo is mainly about technical skills (and we have some great coaches that can help our athletes transitioning from the youth to the senior ranks)

wrestling is a totally different beast (just the weight management is not in the heart of our youngsters and their families, let out when it comes down to the proper preparation, the building of a good wrestler)

a lucky draw, rather

however, don't underestimate Aurora Russo...she's talented, very talented (maybe still too unexperienced at this level, but the real problem is that we don't have any good coach that could help to develop her wrestling and improve up to becoming a consistent global medal candidate)

If Ukraine wasn't there, maybe, but unfortunately it will be a similar fight to Liuzzi from Stadnik. For our girls, such narrow QO are deadly.

however, in the next future I should listen to some of my friends and follow padel and breakdance rather than any other sport that's going to be disappointing and frustrating as hell :roflmao:  :hairpull:

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
    • Mary Rand has died aged 86. The first British woman to win a Gold in track and field at the 1964 Tokyo Games (where she also took home a further two medals in the Women’s 4x100m relay and Pentathlon).
    • Athing Mu competed in the USA trials in 2024 and 2025 post the 2023 rule changes. She also won Gold in 2022 and Bronze in 2023.    Jelimo the jury is out. She doesn’t look male like the other two do.
    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
    • badminton queen Carolina Marin announced that she can't take part into the home Europeans in the upcoming weeks because of her injured knee and calls it a career 😭
    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots
