Women's Tennis ITF Billie Jean King Cup 2024

Recommended Posts

If Slovakia can hold out mentally, they will probably be a slight favorite. Sramkova and the doubles are in better shape than Paolini and Paolini-Errani. But yesterday Paolini played a great match against Swiatek... I`m not going to predict the final result.

this is something I would never have bet for in my life.

Crazy Lipták could not reach a success in 2013 with a team of Hantuchová, Cibulková & Rybarikova and now managed the final with a bunch of complete underdogs... that is some san marino-esque story here

anyway, whatever will happen in the final tomorrow already super proud

Let's do this: You let Jasmine win the 1st cup for Italy tomorrow and we'll send you Sinner to Bratislava for a week of tennis camp with children and youth. Deal? :yes

Do you remember this?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Fed_Cup_World_Group

I don't remember too much Husarova, who at that time played alongside Hantuchová in the singles matches. I more know that persons, like Henrietta Nagyova or Martina Sucha.

Sramkova is 28? Wow. She's Paolini's age. I still have the impression that Sramkova is like crazy 20 :P I don`t know what :)

We do it! :hyper: What year for the italian tennis, 5th Fed Cup for us!

A bit pity for the Slovakian dream, that could be a great history.

This is now a *fourth* BJK Cup for Errani.

Roberta Vinci also has a 4 title: 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2013.

Is it just me that most people still call it the Fed Cup? Changing the name was probably a bad idea.

    • The Italian team has already achieved a better result than the Chinese team in 2022 at home. The Italian team has made enormous progress since 2023, when we were still losing to Korea and Poland. Of course, this is mainly due to naturalizations, but China did the same. It's one of the few sports that have made significant progress before these Olympics and this is how it should be in most disciplines at home games.
