102kg Group B didn't go the way I preferred :d

two more athletes surpassed the 391kg mark and that will kick our guy Dehdar out of top 10! now he needs to do something to qualify. kind of funny because at the start of this qualification period, he was our 3rd guy and nobody cared about him, now #1 and #2 are out and he is our last chance for the quota in this weight

how the hell Hasanbayev (TKM) improved this much in a short period of time ? :d:d:d:d yeah I'm thinking about the same thing

but TKM already has 3 doping bans (all of them less than 4 years of suspension) the rules are not clear in this case. it says the independent panel may withdraw some or all of  the quota places

not sure what "may withdraw" means :dunno: the rules should be clear.

Yauheni Tskiantsou :BLR almost won gold in the final attempt even before group A started. Even if he tried 221 might have won gold today but he was so close to 225 and 408 total, 4kg ahead of Li. Ends at 400kg let's see what happens.

it didn't go according to plan, unfortunately :dunno: only 387kg for him

:ARM Karapetyan just overtook :BLR Tsikhantsou (401kg for the Armenian)

by the way, I've rarely seen a competition of this level with so many mistakes (and early withdraws)

now :CHN Liu has equalled :ARM Karapetyan's Total of 401kg, but he's behind him because he did it after the Armenian

next, the Chinese guy has posted a massive 230kg, but I think he'll come down once he knows he doesn't need anything like that to win

Because we have a f.. idiot as coach, they couldn't even calculate, Dehdar needed 213 but they went for 214 and he missed it by the narrowest possible margin. 1 kilo made a huge difference here and why the hell they started with 208 when they knew he needed 213?

and Dehdar was supposed to be the CJ specialist. his plan was to lift 220 here but I think that was too much pressure for him to handle.

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
    • Mary Rand has died aged 86. The first British woman to win a Gold in track and field at the 1964 Tokyo Games (where she also took home a further two medals in the Women’s 4x100m relay and Pentathlon).
    • Athing Mu competed in the USA trials in 2024 and 2025 post the 2023 rule changes. She also won Gold in 2022 and Bronze in 2023.    Jelimo the jury is out. She doesn’t look male like the other two do.
    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
    • badminton queen Carolina Marin announced that she can't take part into the home Europeans in the upcoming weeks because of her injured knee and calls it a career 😭
    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots
