Actually I did expect the Samoan to win the quota. It's Gaku Akazawa and I was surprised when he lost in GR the other day to Australian, so I had asked as the Samoan is the Oceania champion in the weights in both GR and FS(had read a article like that about him).

But @thepharoah what's with Egypt Wrestling I'm sure I haven't seen them so low at Qualifiers losing so many with big margins.

Also :GUM wrestlers beat :ALG by fall very easily, not common in men's wrestling I believe.

This wrestling federation is always corrupted since I was very young , problems everywhere despite the fact that Egypt has many natural talents in this sport , so I'm not surprised by what is happening now

first quota for :GBS and that was quite easy

Egypt took the other 57kg quota, only in this weight the top 2 seeds were indeed the top two wrestlers.

:AUS qualified in -65kg, this is now the best performance by Oceania nations ever since they combined the African and Oceania qualifier.

@MHSN do u know result of other match in -74 kg ?

your guy won it easily

he is probably the best freestyle wrestler in Africa at the moment, his quota was almost guaranteed even before the competition

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.

    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.

    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots
