Nicaragua may have a tiny chance in W1x, but she’ll have to finish 1st in B final

Here are the relevant A and B Finals for the events:

M1x

Final A - :BER:BRA:CHI:CUB:PAR:URU

Final B - :ARG:DOM:MEX:NCA:PER:VEN

LM2x

Final A - :ARG:BRA:CHI:PER:URU:VEN

W1x

Final A - :ARG:BRA:CUB:MEX:PAR:PER

Final B - :DOM:NCA:URU:VEN

LW2x

Final A - :ARG:BRA:CHI:GUA:PAR:PER

Brazil still has all four boats in the A finals while Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Peru have three boats in A finals.

There's a good chance Chile will qualify in one of the lightweight boats which means the men's single sculls might be decided before the race is even held. Likewise, Argentina winning both lightweight boat quotas is possible which means the women's single sculls quota would be decided. The B final in the single sculls might become a factor, but that requires Brazil (or Paraguay/Peru) to qualify in at least one lightweight boat, but right now they are favoured to qualify in the single sculls.

Bermuda making the A Final has placed them in a very good position to qualify to the Olympics.

If I'm not mistaken we finished like this:

W1x
🇧🇷 Beatriz CUNHA TAVARES CARDOSO
🇲🇽Kenia LECHUGA
🇦🇷Maria Sol AMAYA
🇵🇾Alejandra ALONSO
🇵🇪Adriana Maria SANGUINETI VELASCO
🇨🇺Yariulvis COBAS GARCIA

M1x
🇧🇷Lucas VERTHEIN FERREIRA
🇺🇾Bruno CETRARO BERRIOLO
🇵🇾Javier INSFRAN
🇧🇲Dara ALIZADEH
🇨🇺Reidy ARDONA BLANCO

W2x
🇦🇷Sonia BALUZZO CHIARUZZO / Evelyn Maricel SILVESTRO
🇵🇪Alessia PALACIOS / Valeria PALACIOS
...

🇵🇾Adriana SANABRIA / Rocio Bordon
🇬🇹Lesli GONZALEZ / Yulisa LOPEZ

M2x
🇨🇱Cesar ABAROA, Cesar / Eber SANHUEZA
🇦🇷Alejandro Matias COLOMINO / Pedro Jose Kirk DICKSON
...
🇻🇪Andre MORA / Luis OLLARVES MOTA

2 boats: :ARG:BRA:PAR:PER

1 boat: :BER:CUB:CHI:MEX :URU

14th quota would go to one of :CUB:GUA:VEN depending on the boats Argentina chooses.

I think it would go Cuba!

:MEX won both Paralympic races (PR1M1x and PR3Mix2x) and will have to selected one of the boats. The other quota will go to :URU or :ARG.

Unfortunately I think that the PR1W1x event wasn't held, probably due to a lack of participants.

    • Simply put, yes.    The five-set record for Sinner is definitely concerning, something mental that his coach needs to figure out, right now his best chance is getting it done in 3/4 and just sustaining his level.    Only Alcaraz and Djokovic when he’s not playing at his best can challenge him, and will probably split each of the four slams with how even their head to head is. At the very least, he’ll win one. I don’t know how soon that’ll change, but he’s been on top for long enough that he’ll be of the heavy slam favourites into his 30s at the very least and that gives him 5-7 years. More than doable.
    • Well this was not great news to wake up to :/
    • Djokovic won his first Grand Slam in Australia in 2008...  Wow. I remember that tournament, when he won to Federer in 1/2.
    • Cahill want to leave him last year. I don't know how much longer they'll train together.
    • In his current form, it will be difficult. AO has always been his preferred Grand Slam.
    • Do you think Sinner will win more than 10 Slams in his carrer? He's already 25 years old... If anyone from this generation is going to achieve anything great, it's Alcaraz, but he's still a long way from Djokovic or Nadal. Sinner clearly has mental problems in important matches: his five-set record in Slams is 5-11. Alcaraz and Djokovic are great because they can pull off matches like today's. Sinner might have one such match against Medvedev in 2024, and that's it. But that was probably due to the fact that his opponent wasn't a killer.
    • I wonder when he will win the French Open title? Last year, Sinner regrettably failed to convert three match points, and I wonder what this year will bring. This is the only Grand Slam title missing from Sinner's collection.
    • He'll win more grand slams in the future, he has Darren Cahill as coach. Simona Halep reach no. 1 in WTA ranking thanks to him, so probably Cahill will help Sinner to regain his strong confidence and mentality. Let's see how he'll improve till Roland Garros.
    • You're not wrong, he wasn't at the high level he usually plays at, but...   Based off the results of one slam you come to this conclusion?
    • Sinner was out of form here from the start, and unfortunately, he doesn't have the character to push through his matches like Alcaraz did today. Alcaraz could have easily been eliminated today, but he has a different mentality.
