Men’s main/repechage round 3 is over, here who’s still in contention for the 6 individual quotas:

Main Round 4: :PER:NZL:INA:ESP:PUR:FRA:FRA:CAN:MEX

Repechage Round 4: :MAR:GER:CAN:PUR:GBR:CRC:POL:CRC:CHI:POR:ECU:ISR:GER:CHI:ESP:PAN:CRC:NED:ARG:INA:NZL:BAR:PER:VEN:VEN

Are there any chances of getting a ticket?

Yeah, independent on qualies.

So, basically:

Now we have 16 on MR and 32 on repechage.

by the end of 29th we will have 8 on MR and 16 on repechage.

All the 8 at the 5th main round will be necessarily top12.

So, if 4 of the 7 not on contention (Picklum, Fitzgibbons, Weston Webb, Bonvalot, Hennessy, Marks, Defay) advances, the top12 will necessarily qualify and therefore it will mean a quota for the other surfers who advance to Main Round 5.

Women’s repechage round 4 is over, here who’s still in contention for the 8 individual quotas:

Main Round 4: :POR:GER:CRC:ESP:BRA:PER:ESP:MEX:CHN

Repechage Round 5: :PER:JPN:BAR:NED:PER:ISR:BRA:GER:GBR:ESP

By my count, that gives each surfer an 8/15 chance at an Olympic quota (there are some complications to the mix for surfers from Peru/Brazil/Spain as they can only secure two quotas)

Event to forget about for :CAN

We had a good chance at a second women’s Olympic quota, with two surfers having chances (Brooks was a medal contender which makes me even more pissed), but neither one could qualify. Only one that’s still in is Sanoa, but she’s already qualified for Paris.

And while we do have two men still in, there’s only six quotas available so I don’t see us winning one.
