Don’t think Spain would purposefully match fix, but they could theoretically not try very hard in this match against Canada, lose, and have a higher chance at qualifying for Paris. You’d fancy your chances in a third place match against Canada more so than Great Britain.

That doesn’t really make sense tbh. Winner of the group likely plays Ireland or Korea. Win that and they’re through

 

Runner up would play Belgium, and could still end up playing Ireland or Korea in the 3rd place play off 

 

Either way Canada would need to win by 4 to overtake Spain as GB will beat Malaysia

Funny thing is USA finished in last place at the last pro league and was going to be relegated but NZ pulled out instead arguing they were going to concentrate their money and effort in olympic qualification, now they are left with neither.
