Sabalenka almost choked the first set away from 5-2 lead but Gauff choked at 6-5 herself and obviously Aryna will be a huge favorite in the final against a first-timer. Which doesn't mean much because it's the WTA after all ;)

Great for the sport to have an elite player from China. Japan is doing pretty good at junior level as well, maybe Osaka inspired some of their younger girls. Interestingly i don't remember any remotely decent player from South Korea + Asia is pretty much irrelevant on the men's side. I think Nigeria for example also has a lot of potential.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Amazing victory for Jannik, he just destroyed Djokovic

That, and Djokovic was off. 54 unforced errors is hardly going to cut it against an opponent of Sinner’s caliber.

Credit to Sinner though, he barely put a step wrong during the match. Ending Djokovic’s 33 match win streak at Australian in that fashion is really impressive, not to mention doing it without facing even a single break point. Future world #1, you heard it from me first.

I hope that with Gismondi will be different, especially since she was already a great talent in her junior years. The problem in Italy is that for the past 15 years, aside from Pellegrino, there has been a miss of stability in other athletes: there are some booms of excellent form, but later they disappear. I also worry that funding for cross-country skiing will be cut after the Cortina Olympics.
