Monzanator 3,612 Posted January 25 #211 Share Posted January 25 Sabalenka almost choked the first set away from 5-2 lead but Gauff choked at 6-5 herself and obviously Aryna will be a huge favorite in the final against a first-timer. Which doesn't mean much because it's the WTA after all

Monzanator 3,612 Posted January 25 #214 Share Posted January 25 Expected and well, Zheng faced a lukewarm draw to get there since the top half quickly collapsed
OlympicsFan 783 Posted January 25 #215 Share Posted January 25 Great for the sport to have an elite player from China. Japan is doing pretty good at junior level as well, maybe Osaka inspired some of their younger girls. Interestingly i don't remember any remotely decent player from South Korea + Asia is pretty much irrelevant on the men's side. I think Nigeria for example also has a lot of potential. Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Credit to Sinner though, he barely put a step wrong during the match. Ending Djokovic’s 33 match win streak at Australian in that fashion is really impressive, not to mention doing it without facing even a single break point. Future world #1, you heard it from me first.
thepharoah 2,297 Posted January 26 #220 Share Posted January 26 Sinner finally Novak loses in Australia , well the Italian really deserve thus title , but it will be a very worth final to watch , at least we don't know the outcome before the start of the match
