Athletics at the Summer Olympic Games 2016

What happened to the French user Ben? I've become so used to it that I'm still expecting him to be asking who won Olympic quotas in the different events :d

She was MAD :p

No, and she definitely isn't arrogant. Our speed skaters definitely aren't, the cyclists absolutely neither, same thing for Ligtlee and Bouwmeester who won gold in Rio :p

It's logical that she's mad as hell, when you have a very serious chance to win Olympic gold but lose it in a race in which you feel you didn't run in the way you can.

Sadly not this time ... but great to see that Castlin wins the first athletics medal for India.

She is not Indian origin. I don't think she has any connection to India except the fact that she likes wearing Bindi (that thing between her eyes)

Our nation is hyping up the bromance between the two. I thought it was funny, they almost burst out laughing in the middle of the race while all of the other guys were dying to cross the line and then Bolt is like "lol, not this time." It even looked like he slowed down just a bit just so he can barely beat him.

American fans probably cant believe how dominant their athletes are ... of course it helps when you are the only big nation that hasnt adapt to a different time zone, not to mention the fact that it might help when your biggest TV channel dictates the start times. At least we can be sure that the US will win much less medals in 2020.

Really? because in london we got 110 medals and 46 gold, amount of gold that we wont get to this time, plus a very nice amount in beijing.

And don't worry, NBC will again make them move the swimming finals to the morning just like in beijing

    • Many things, probably they thought it is already over and the win will come itself... but also Nitra improved their play a lot, they outplayed us in physicality in the last 2 games, they won almost every duel. Was hard to watch. Anyway I am still persuated we will finish the job at home with success on Tuesday
    • If you look at their results this season and on the Super Series, it’s not really that surprising.    I’d consider them to be medal contenders.
    • At one point it seemed we were making good progress in this sport, but in the past 1-2 years things seem to have hit a standstill..   Ivaylo Ivanov is still our only elite judoka, but he is passing 30. There were/are some promising youngsters, but they haven't been able to make a jump to the senior level. At this Euro we barely had any first round wins (not including Ivanov). In fencing and taekwondo the results are much more visible for us.
    • yes, but that's only an (important) episode... I mean, what's up with your team more in general...it looks like they got the classic "fear to win", they're not as brilliant as they were in the early games of the series
    • after a few leagues ended well before the true climax, now we have both leagues from the good, old Czechoslovakia going to game #7    shame that both games will be at the exact same time
    • complete blackout resulting in a 5 minutes major 3 minutes to the end
    • Extraliga Playoffs   The Finals (Best-of-7 Series)   Game #6: HC Kometa Brno (4) - HC Dynamo Pardubice (3)  1-5 (0-1, 0-1, 1-3)   the series is tied 3-3 and also in Czechia we're gonna watch the magic of a game 7...Extraliga does never disappoint its fans    Game #7 is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th in Pardubice @ 6 p.m. CET
