Zakopane/Jesna could maybe do a dual bid for something like that?

Lillehammer and St. Mortiz are probably about the best hosts you could ask for though.

We have ZERO alpine skiing infrastructure to hold an international event in this sport. The Nosal piste is closed since 2009 and was last renovated in the 1980s AFAIK. It went completely out of order after communism fell since the top part is owned by the National Park, the bottom is private land and has several owners and someone else owns the ski lift that I believe isn't working anyway. So yeah, there you have it :p

Jasna would have to host all the alpine skiing but we could host all the ski jumping ;)

Yes, it doesn't seem like the situation looks good for the weekend. Today's training was canceled due to heavy snowfall. It also looks like there will be snowing tonight, Friday night, and all day on Sunday. Let's hope that we'll have at least one race. Also, tomorrow's training should be televised.

Last year no races because of no snow. This year no races because of lots of snow. Next year no races, because of winds. Two years from now no races because of no interest...

Better to have too much snow than too little!

as expected, too much snow on the track = no training #3 Today

the organizers said that they want to focus on the preparation of the course for Tomorrow's race rather than rush the track cleaning for Today's training

weather forecast is good for Tomorrow, but awful for Sunday

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.
