PB and new OQT for :NED Kai van Westering. Nice meet for him so far.

:UKR Zheltiakov surprisingly finishing 22nd in heats.

Great development for Van Westering! He's another Dutch-American growing up and swimming in America with Dutch parents and choosing to represent the Netherlands, just like Corbeau.

With Van Westering-Kamminga/Corbeau-Korstanje we almost have a competitive 4x100m medley on the mens side. Just need a proper freestyle swimmer.

Women's 200m Freestyle
Final Results

:HKG Siobhan HAUGHEY
1:54.89

:NZL Erika FAIRWEATHER
1:55.77

:AUS Brianna THROSSELL
1:56.00

Full Final Result HERE

:CZE Barbora Seemannová 4th , aka best result for Czech since medal in 2003. This girl has a vibe. Also 4th in 100m Freestyle heats..... And her form is increasing before Paris. We are hoping she could be the one who wins the first swimming Olympic medal for Czech in history .....

Good for her, but that time will probably be far from what’s required to win an Olympic medal at Paris. Plus, the field isn’t very deep with the exception of Haughey. To be in contention for an Olympic medal, she’d realistically need to go a 1:53 mid (maybe high), which seems quite unlikely IMO. In the women’s 200m freestyle, it’s likely to be between MOC, Titmus, Haughey, and  McIntosh for the Olympic medals. In the women’s 100m freestyle, it’s likely to be between Haughey, Douglass, Weitzeil, MOC, and Steenbergen (McKeon as well if she can get back to form) for the Olympic medals.

Well, I understand. Some of the stars are not in Doha but also we are not sure yet who is going to Paris. Seemannová is going up with her form. Just like she was in Tokyo. There, she broke national record a lot. I believe, that in Paris, she will most likely go below 1:55 and with that time, there is higher possibility. In Tokyo, she was 6th for 1:55,45. This year, she is surely aiming below 1:55, maybe close to 1:54,50 at the Olympics .....

Steenbergen 52.53 in the semis. Think that's a PB for her.

A PB by 0.18 seconds yeah! And a new :NEDNR as well, previous NR was 52.69 by Femke Heemskerk in 2015.
