Normally this is one of my shortest nights of the year because there's usually MotoGP/2/3 in Australia, which start at 2-3am or so, but COVID, so not this time...long sleep incoming

Exciting days for us here in  as even some of the poorest & least developed countries in the world are able to send their private jets to our airports and fill up our five-star hotels as part of the Global battle against Climate Change.

Of course not all Delegates to the Climate Change conference are jet-flying hypocrites. At least one did their bit to save the planet by arriving in a propellor plane.  And I’ve just seen a few car-loads of delegates relaxing from the hectic, exhausting schedule of the first morning of the Conference by coming to Edinburgh to look at the Castle.

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, a local 'snack bar' owner in the city of Goes has once again won in court and remains the sole owner of a Wendy's in the Benelux area. He has been fighting the American fast food chain Wendy's for many years, since they want to start their own restaurants in the Netherlands and Belgium like in many other countries, but a court has decided this guy and his joint have sole ownership of their name  

 

 

Pretty awesome to see some local shop (without any other branches or anything, it's just this one in this one place) beat out an American giant in court, for years  

 

Rightfully so, it'd be bullshit if he had to change his name just because some US giant comes marching in. Especially some US giant which has as good as no reputation in this part of the world, most people who have even heard of the name literally only know it because of this exact case, a majority of the rest knows it from some movie or show or something and a tiny minority from having been to the US

We used to have them here in Britain, but they withdrew about twenty years ago - there weren’t many, mainly in London. Their gimmick is square burgers. How is that even possible?
