Track Cycling at the Summer Olympic Games 2016

Recommended Posts

I know that the media and most german people dont really care about it, but we got a 5th place in mens team pursuit and a new german record, for me this is much more important than winning a gold in equestrian dressage.

If we build a team around Weinstein, Kämna and Appelt, then we cant lose the gold in 2020.

So the second gold for GB and the second time with a lot of german help, congrats to Heiko Salzwedel. We really shouldnt give away our know-how so easily. Either british cycling just pays much better or german officials didnt agree with his training methods ...

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

You mean if they'd come up with way more advanced equipment than the rest?

Btw, I think it's sad if technological advance is the main reason for winning. What happened to, everyone rides the same bike and the best cyclists win? :(

Then it's more like car racing and not Olympic sport.

We'll give you a fight for that gold with Niklas Larsen, Frederik Madsen and Casper Pedersen.

And we're really missing Salzwedel as well. He really meant a lot to our team!

That went down the drain in 1896 when it was added on the Olympic program :p

Probably you're not the only ones who will give them a fight (even though clearly it's way too early to say who will be the favourites in 2020 because if this and that happens, this or that could happen and if that or this happens, that or this could happen otherwise etc :p )

I refuse to believe that. Of course it will be a fight between Denmark and Germany! ;):p

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
