[OFF TOPIC] Coronavirus Pandemic

Recommended Posts

All this talk about social distancing, pretty much the number one thing to fight this crap, and meanwhile Trump and his cronies (plus dr Fauci, who actually does know what he talks about) are giving live press conferences while standing not even a meter away from each other

Every head of state/government figure who is giving press moments or statements or whatever right next to other people - and not 1,5-2 meters distance between them - is out.

It is just bizarre how all over the world, most leaders are talking about how to contain things, fight things and so on....while Trump spends almost literally 80% of his time talking about how he and his government are doing this and that better than anyone else

- We've tested far more than anyone else

- We've approved medicines in record time

- Thanks to me, NATO is paying us hundreds of billions of dollars (no idea what it's got to do with the pandemic, but sure)

And so on.

Here in Algeria we are doing everything a way better than Trump

So Donald said that the best cure to fight corona is a anti-malaria medicine, result a man in Arizona who obviously knew that "Dr." Trump is a specialist in that matter used it and -- sadly, it was the last thing he did in his life https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/24/coronavirus-cure-kills-man-after-trump-touts-chloroquine-phosphate

antimalarial drugs have a lot of side effects, some of them fatal, and should be taken only in case of malaria, obviously. Or, at least, under medical control.

If any of you believes that any antimalarial drug may be beneficial to his/her own health, please drink tonic water and stay away from pills.

That’s all he knows how to do. That’s why people follow him.

    • I hope they can kick teqball and convince the North Koreans to play the real deal  (very unlikely, I know(   Obstacle racing on the other hand, it should be a compulsory sport of the ABG
    • Lasting 2 Weeks and including 24 sports    I bet Beach Sepaktakraw(including their favourite Chinlone, Hoop), Water Skiing, Arnis, Floorball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Underwater Hockey, Boxing and a few martial arts (Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc)   Obstacle Racing also should make the cut.
    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
