George Russell fills in for Hamilton @ Sakhir GP. Jack Aitken will drive at Williams.

Mick Schumacher has been confirmed as Mazepin's teammate at Haas next season.

This is the busiest December 2nd in F1 since like 1962 or something! :p

I am a bit sad that it's not Hülkenberg, but Russell going from the worst car to the best is fun.

At least 6 cars being filled in differently next season, now that's interesting. Curious what Schumacher will do, he absolutely has the raw speed but does need to step up in terms of consistency (although, to be fair, that has gotten better this year).

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Haas needs to step it up tbh. Quite frankly they've fallen behind Alfa Romeo on pace alone. I have a feeling having two rookies won't actually help them much either (though the so-called experienced pair of Magnussen & Grosjean simply run out of steam). Mazepin looks like the least-qualified of the Russian pay-drivers. I'd take Markelov over him and well, Sirotkin was slow but didn't crash too often. I wish we got to see Alexander Rossi in a proper F1 equipment.

No no no, not Artem Markelov. The guy has been racing in F2 since before Fangio entered F1 and just never really improved. He's quite decent, no doubt, but especially for what would be a rookie he's both too old and hasn't nearly shown enough improvement in recent years.

You probably confused Markelov with Marco Apicella in F3000 :p  Between 2016-2018 Markelov was a F2 title challenger, he finished runner-up only to LeClerc in 2017. I'd say he wouldn't have done worse than Sirotkin in 2018 Williams but it's all gone now. His current F2 team seems to be more focused on Formula E which probably explains why he's struggling so much.

First practive is over and Russell was 0,322 faster than Bottas.

Guess the Hamilton X factor is a hoax and Bottas maybe sucks more than people think!

Next week we should put Latifi in the Mercedes as an experiment.

    • What I'm surprised at here is that the sunrise and sunset both change by 27/28 minutes over those two weeks, providing almost an hour more of sunlight from the beginning of the Games to the end. I didn't realize it changed that fast. Growing up in Canada, I always felt like one day in late October we suddenly got 4 hours less sunlight, and one day in early April we suddenly got 4 hours more.

And his #1 geopolitical enemy is China. Not Russia, North Korea or Iran but China. Modern society especially in Europe simply doesn't understand that becuse nobody is old enough to remember the Monroe Doctrine which predates fascism by a full century. I don't think even in USA they call James Monroe a fascist

Both were bombing any country they picked, both were ruining systems they wanted to.  I prefer reds more because they are at least honest about it. Also, i dont like what this ultraliberalism brought to our whole Earth. Whoever opposes this level of insanity will have my vote.

    • thats true. If anyone observes the US election map then he can see that Harris dominated in NorthEast states and the Eastern Coast, exactly where the big economic centres are based (New York, New Jersey, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco etc).   Also what i observe regarding politics in western europe is that Socialdemocratic/centre-left parties have become extremely pro-market and even neo-liberal and some traditional right parties have become euroscepticist and protectionist, exactly the opposite as it was in 70s-80s
